About Kathryn

Kathryn is a HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registered sport and exercise psychologist, also holding BASES (British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences) accreditation as a sport and exercise scientist (psychology support). Her passion lies in helping people perform at their best, develop resilience and find enjoyment both on and off the field. With over 20 years of experience working with athletes, coaches, parents and those wanting to live a healthier lifestyle, she blends evidence-based psychology with practical strategies to enhance performance and wellbeing. Her approach is collaborative, adaptable and goal-driven, with the aim of supporting you to make changes with confidence and consistency.

She has experience of coaching sport and spent over 20 years combining her teaching at university with work as a sport and exercise psychologist before leaving academia to create more time to support her clients. Kathryn also holds a Leadership Coaching and Mentoring qualification working with managers to develop practical leadership skills.

Kathryn has played tennis from a young age, competed at county and national level and currently plays Masters events across the UK. Having experienced a number of long-term sports injuries, she specialises in injury prevention and recovery, supporting people to deal with the frustration of inactivity, sticking to rehabilitation exercises and confidently returning to exercise and sport.

Away from the day job, Kathryn loves playing tennis, going to the gym, long-distance walking and is a long-suffering supporter of Derby County.
