Reformer Pilates

The amazing Pilates reformer is available to book as a class, personal training, or pairs sessions. During these sessions you will be supported by a Pilates trained physiotherapist. You can achieve in just 30-40 minutes what would take you an hour in mat-work. Working against a resistance level tailored to you, you can complete full body toning, conditioning and strengthening and exceptional core strength in a short time.
Reformer Pilates is a form of Pilates exercise performed on a specialised machine called a Reformer. This equipment consists of a sliding carriage, springs and various attachments that provide resistance and support.
The Reformer allows for a wide range of movements and exercises that target core strength, flexibility and overall body conditioning. It offers a low-impact workout that can be adapted to different fitness levels and is often used to improve posture, balance and muscle tone.
Physiotherapists use the Pilates Reformer to enhance their treatments by incorporating its unique features into rehabilitation and recovery programs:
-
Customised Exercises: The Reformer allows for tailored exercises that can be adjusted for intensity and resistance, helping to address specific injuries or conditions.
-
Improved Core Strength: It helps strengthen the core muscles, which is crucial for stabilising the spine and supporting overall body function.
-
Enhanced Flexibility and Range of Motion: The Reformer’s adjustable springs and various attachments aid in gentle stretching and improving flexibility.
-
Low-Impact Training: It offers a low-impact alternative that is easier on the joints, making it suitable for individuals recovering from surgery or injury.
-
Postural Correction: Exercises on the Reformer can help correct poor posture and alignment by targeting and strengthening weak or imbalanced muscle groups.
-
Functional Movement Training: The Reformer helps in training functional movements, which can improve daily activities and overall physical / sports performance.
Using the Reformer, physiotherapists can provide a more dynamic and effective approach to rehabilitation and conditioning.
